Renaissance Core Values

Warm Relationships

Love is the backbone of everything we do.  We want everyone at Renaissance Church to feel a true sense of acceptance and belonging.  You are loved!

We believe loving and supportive relationships are a primary structure God uses to facilitate His work of changing our lives for the better.
1 Peter 1:22, John 15:12-13, 1 Peter 3:8

Heartfelt Worship

We believe that loving God with all our hearts is our most important duty as Christians.  Therefore, we purpose to worship God passionately, authentically, and continually.
John 4:24, Romans 12:1, Psalms 100:2

God's Power and Presence

We crave God’s presence and power in everything we do.  We have seen God do so many miracles in response to our prayers - physical healing, emotional healing, and people set free from torment, and so many other wonderful answers to prayer.  When God is here, miracles happen!  To that end, we purpose to acknowledge our dependence on God, and make room for Him in our meetings and our daily lives.  Living in intimacy with God is the key to experiencing Him in all His power.
Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 2:4-5, Ephesians 3:16-20

Outward Focus

The Church's most important mission is to reach those who don't yet have a relationship with Jesus.  Therefore, Renaissance Church will always have those 'outside' our church on the forefront of our minds.  We will show them the love of God by actively seeking them out, welcoming them, ministering to their needs, and helping them to to become followers of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Corinthians 5:20, Luke 15:4-7, 1 Corinthians 9:19, 22

Equipping and Empowering

Church is not supposed to be a one-man show, where the pastor does “all the church stuff” and everyone else just watches.  Rather, it is the job description of all leaders at Renaissance Church to equip and empower you to be who Christ calls you to be, and do what Christ calls you do to.  At Renaissance Church, our goal is for everyone to be a growing disciple of Christ who makes disciples.
Ephesians 4:11

Teaching the Bible for Life Change

The Bible is God's Word for us.  So we value teaching the Bible in ways that are clear and straightforward, culturally relevant, easy to understand, and creative.  We teach the Bible in a way that helps you apply it to your life.  Our small groups provide everyone an opportunity to discuss the Bible teaching.  Sharing and applying the Word to our lives in Christian community brings real life change.  The goal is to be fully committed followers of Jesus Christ.
James 1:22, Hebrews 4:12, Matthew 7:24-27

Passionate Prayer

Renaissance Church is fueled by prayer. Why?
– Because we are interested in what GOD can do, not what we can do in our own strength.
– Because we believe God wants to work though us, so we need to be intimate with Him and fully yielded to Him.
– Because we minister out of the overflow of what God is doing in our own lives.
– Because God answers prayer!
Ephesians 6:18, Colossians 4:2

Integrity

This one should be obvious.  But I’m guessing you’ve at least heard stories of some Christian displaying a lack of integrity.  Rather than avoiding the issue by thinking “we’re better than that”, we take a proactive approach, embracing holiness and integrity because they are Christ-like.  Together, as a leadership team, and a congregation, we can help each other (and our children) to stay true to the heart of God.
1 Peter 1:16, Romans 12:1, 2 Timothy 1:9
